Petco Dog & Puppy Training Classes

Our goal is that by the final class, your dog is not fazed by its surroundings, people, or other dogs, and it will be happy entering new environments. Training is provided by Tucker Pup's dog trainers and hosted at The Anti-Cruelty Society's Training Center at 157 W. Free parking is available on Wells Street, just south of Grand Avenue in the Society's parking garage. Not only will you and your pets be working together to live your best lives, but you’ll be helping future pets in need.

ARL is excited to offer two virtual dog training classes! Pet parents will also learn important initial, basic training skills that you can start well before your puppy kindergarten or good manners class begins. Our basic skill training classes are designed to teach you how to implement force-free and reward based techniques to accomplish desired results. Basic skills will be covered such as SIT, DOWN, SETTLE, STAY, LOOSE LEASH WALKING, LEAVE IT, COME, MEET N GREET PEOPLE & DOGS and much, much more.

We will provide you with a report detailing what our certified professional dog trainers worked on with your dog and what you can do at home to continue progress. Clients may choose to enroll their dog for more than one 4-week block. Some may choose to utilize our private training services to help make sure the skills instilled during camp successfully transfer to the home environment. The curriculum at Petco for puppy training is designed to encourage positive behaviors by teaching the basics and building on the commands you practice at home. We cover essential commands, loose-leash walking and provide problem solving tips for potty training, chewing, digging and more. In-person group sessions also allow for puppies to socialize in a safe environment.

This 18-week complete training package includes Adult Level 1, Adult Level 2, AKC Canine Good Citizen Class, plus a 45-minute Private lesson and the AKC Canine Good Citizen Test. This 4-week, expert-developed class helps identify your dog’s triggers and creates healthy new habits so they can feel safe when left alone. However, not every moment is enjoyable when your dog isn't trained to behave in specific ways or avoid unwanted behaviors.
